Last weekend I had the delight of two days in the mountains with 11 members of Wits SCO.
We left on Thursday evening, spent the day of Friday (another public holiday) and came back on Saturday at lunchtime.
It really was a great time. There was no speaker, so various members of the group led us through Bible studies and discussions, looking at Jesus’ ‘I am’ sayings. It was a very encouraging weekend, and a great chance to get to know a few of the folks a wee bit better.
Other than that I’ve been spending my time in the usual ways, at college, on campus, at church and getting to know Jo’burg a little better. We’re now entering ‘winter’. People keep talking about how cold it’s getting, though it’s generally warmer than a good summer day in Scotland, which leads me to believe that if they came north in the winter that they actually might die of cold. However, it also leads me to believe that when summer hits here then I’ll probably melt! Exciting times.
Since the photo thing appears to be working for me again, let me show you some more things that I’ve been up to recently.
In summary: encouraged, and enjoying the weather.
