On my iPod

This week I am mostly listening to:

I am Stretched Out on Your Grave from Hourglass

Early Kate Rusby. Pure, brilliant folk, with drums and uilleann pipes.

Kind of depressing – since 90% of folk music is about lovers who cheat, leave for war and/or die, that’s not a great suprise – yet still cool.

Defying Gravity from Glee: Season 1

Awesome show. Awesome song.

Songs Like This from Play On

Brilliant boy-hating, break-up song by Carrie Underwood. Not actually a mood I am currently in, but the song’s still good and fun.

Cocaine Blues from Folsom Prison Blues

I don’t know how, but Johnny Cash had an uncanny ability to make the most disturbing of themes (this time about a coke-addicted man who shoots and kills his girlfriend and is sentenced to life in prison) into really fun and catchy wee tunes. Love.

In summary: feeling musical.
