Had a very Bible-y day today.
Galatians 2 in supervision. Amazing and hard and challenging and good.
And then this evening Hamish did a preach at Newcastle CU on Colossians 1:15-23. So exciting.
That bit of Colossians is basically all about who Jesus is. You can read it here. But to summarise, it’s just about how Jesus is really, really awesome – God, creator, ruler, head and owner of everything. That’s always great to hear, but especially in the context that Hamish was talking about, as he encouraged the students to live and speak for Jesus at university this year. Essentially – we’re often scared about talking about Jesus to flatmates and course mates and team mates, but if we believe what Colossians 1 says then we’ll understand this:
We’re His people, talking about Him, to His world.
That changes everything – and makes me a whole lot braver!
Also did my first flyering of the year. Deep, deep joy. Love it.
In summary: confident because of who Jesus is and what he has done – even when handing out flyers.
