On world mission tour (pt. 1)

Sorry for the lack of blogging over the last few days. I spent the weekend in bed with a cold and feeling sorry for myself, which is never a good mood in which to blog – so I didn’t.

Thankfully the cold is now nearly gone. Although only the illness – the cold weather is absolutely here in force now. The weather over the last few days has been absolutely horrendous – not just cold, but cold plus cold rain. Unpleasant.

On Friday night I had the joy of a first joint-CU as Northumbria & Newcastle met with each other as part of our exciting UCCF world mission tour. This tour is something that happens every autumn term, and is organised by various mission agencies, who plan the nights to motivate students to evangelism generally and world mission more specifically. The tour goes around the various cities in our region over the space of a few weeks, and began with us first.

We met together on the Northumbria campus, we had music courtesy of Newcastle CU, interviews with students from both unis, some great chat from Dick Dowsett on evangelism in Acts 17, and a time afterwards for people to browse the mission stalls and ask questions etc.

It was a lot of fun – and looking forward to part 2 (for me at least) on Saturday in Durham.

In summary: back from my sick bed.

  1. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – UCCF! UCCF!
