I’m back from two days in the City of Dreams, and some awesome Christmassy fun with the awesome north east team.
It was awesome.
We sang carols, we had some great teaching from Marcus Honeysett all about Spiritual Leadership, we spent lots of time praying together, we drank lots of tea and coffee & ate lots of cakes and sweet delights (including enjoying my delicious, if poorly decorated, biscuits), and we went for an amazing 3-courses-for-£9 Christmas dinner, complete with Secret Santa gift-giving.
Truly a joy.
Team days are such a blessing in this job. By nature staff-work can be a pretty isolated affair, and that’s okay, but it does mean that the times when we do get to hang out as a bigger group of people who are all doing pretty much the same thing is very special. It’s lovely to be part of a team, to share with one another, to pray for one another, and to get some really helpful and encouraging teaching.
And both the food and comic relief is always great.
In summary: some very good days.
