Today I’ve been knitting up a little storm: to match the tempest blowing outside. We had much fun in knitting club this afternoon – me making tiny yellow things, and Jess making a start on her first jumper (a proud moment for her teacher!)
The knitting I’m working on is baby-sized, because here in UCCF North East land we’re having a little season of babies.
This morning I was woken by a text letting me know that in the wee hours, Hamish (the other staff-worker in this awesome Durham and Newcastle patch) and his wife, Marije, welcomed Rebecca Sophia, their second child and first daughter, into the world.
And tomorrow, Linda, wife of my boss, Peter, is due to have a scheduled c-section.
Babies, babies, babies – very exciting!
Once this set of knitting is done there’s no more baby-knitting until summer (when the next baby-season takes place), so I’m enjoying working on the wee things, and trying to decide what to focus on next. Thoughts?
In summary: knitting, and praising God for new people!
