On the God Delusions – day 1

Today was the first day of my first CU mission in Newcastle.

There were lunchtime talks – ‘How can we trust the Bible?’ – with Waitrose sandwiches and question-time at the end (we had about 45 people at the first talk, and about 30 at the second).

And this evening was a Valentine’s Day themed international cafe. I chatted to some Chinese girls and some Italian girls, we ate chicken pasta bake and choc-ices, we played Valentine games, and listened to a talk on how God shows that he loves us by sending Jesus to die for us.

Lots of fun.

A good start to the week – and a special blessing to see nervous CU people wander outside to do questionnaires on campus, and arrive back a little later buzzing with excitement at how things have gone, and the encouraging conversations they’ve had.

Hearing students proclaim ‘God is amazing’ is pretty much why I love my job.

In summary: looking forward to day 2.
