Newcastle CU events week 2011 is over. I’m sad, because it’s been so much fun, but I’m also glad, because I’m very, very tired.
Today we had the final lunchbar (times 2) on ‘Is Jesus the only way?’
Good numbers again, and great questions afterwards.
This evening we had a dinner, and Dave spoke on the Parable of the Great Banquet from Luke 14.
I had a good chat with a girl sitting on my table who has heard about Jesus for the first time this week, and she’s loving it. She’s planning on going to church on Sunday (never been before) and has signed up to join the follow-up course that the CU will be running over the next few weeks.
And, tonight we got a brand new brother, as one guy professed faith. Earlier in the week this same person remarked, (on hearing that we can be sure that God isn’t a delusion, because He has disclosed himself to us, by stepping into history in the person of Jesus) “Well, if that’s true, it’s amazing.”
Tonight he accepted that it is true. And it is amazing.
What a great week – lots of interest, lots of follow-up to come, lots of great chats, and lots of encouragement in seeing the CU step out, share their faith and be thrilled at the way that God moves.
In summary: tired, but glad.
