On Relay 2

I write to you today from deepest, darkest Shropshire, where I’m attending Relay 2, subbing in for poor Paul, who’s off work ill.

Five years ago I was at Relay 2 as a Relay worker, so it’s weird, but good, to be back. That conference was so influential for me back then. There was a huge emphasis on thinking about the future: taking the gospel on beyond Relay, to the workplace, to churches, and overseas, and that was the moment that I decided that I would head for another hemisphere and life in South Africa.

I didn’t know then what that would be like, or what would happen, or anything about what the next five years would look like, but it’s been a wonderful and exciting and it’s thrilling to think about what God might do in the lives of all these Relay workers in the next five years.

Lots to look forward to this week.

In summary: Relay fun.
