On Czech Traditions

Today I’ve been introduced to an odd Czech Easter tradition, involving a beribboned willow stick. Modelled here by Ed:

Apparently at Easter Czech guys run around whipping girls with these sticks. & the girls respond by giving the guys gifts of chocolate and wine, in the hope that this exchange will result in increased fertility.

Odd. And frankly, not a tradition I feel that our culture is poorer for lacking.

In summary: traditions.

It’s that easy, eh? I can just go whacking people in return for chocolate and wine instead of the local superstore? Sounds good to me!
